Building a new home should be an enjoyable, hassle-free experience, and at MZ Homes we make every effort to ensure this is how every project goes.
Communication, honesty, flexibility and no-nonsense advice are the key to making any project run smoothly, so we make sure that we put these qualities first – along with guaranteeing our workmanship of course!
Working with MZ Homes is all about ensuring you’re 100% happy at each step before advancing to the next. Here’s how the average project progresses:
1- LAND: Before designing your home or working out how to fit an existing plan on your land, we take the time to painstakingly assess your block. This is an important first step that will dictate how we should approach your project, and that will help us work out how best to utilise your land.
2- BUDGET & ROUGH PROPOSAL: Once we have a good grasp on the characteristics and limitations of your lot, we’ll work with you to establish a realistic budget. This will not be a final formal quote, as things can often change! This is the ideation stage where we discuss your layout and orientation, and where we work out what is possible on your land and how we can work with you to achieve the best value for money.
3- PLANS, DESIGN & DEPOSIT: This is where the fun begins! If you’re happy with the initial proposal, we can then start working with our designer to finalise the design and work out all the specifics. Remember – there is almost no limit to the amount of personalisation you can put in, so don’t be shy! We usually require a deposit at this stage to cover the designer’s fee Soil Test and Engineering fees.
4- FINAL QUOTE: When you’re happy with the design, layout, inclusions and fixtures, we’ll put it all together into a detailed quote. This covers everything from floor to ceiling. If there’s anything you want to change, simply ask and we’ll amend the quote accordingly.
5- DOCUMENTATION: We’ll do all council submissions and related documentation to get your build started. This service is already included in your quote!
6- BUILDING: From the first day of building to the last, we’ll give you regular updates on our progress. Our Director Mick is on site every single day, so if you have any questions, you can talk to him and know you’re getting the full story, right from the trenches! You can be as involved as you like throughout this process – it’s your home, so you’re more than welcome to offer your input at any stage.
7- HANDOVER & AFTER SALE SERVICE: When we’re done, we’ll conduct a full builder’s clean and hand over the keys to your new home. We guarantee all workmanship, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that we’re on call to make minor fixes and adjustments as necessary.
